| Haweswater (20th January)
The first trip of term to the quieter eastern side of the Lake District. Quiet except for the sound of a gale-force
wind all day... |

A crashed alien craft on Harter Fell? |
| Cadair Idris (26th January)
The big one in southern Snowdonia again, windy again, with added cloud this time. |
 |
It was a bit misty on the top. |
 |
Cue 9 pairs of wet feet... |
| Malham (3rd February)
A stroll along the (soggy) bleak Yorkshire moors, made a relaxing change from slogging up mountains all day. |

| Swallow Barn Weekend (8th-10th February)
Brought a new meaning to "wet weekend"! We got a thorough drenching on Grasmoor on the Saturday, and
had an easier walk over to Keswick the next day to recover. |

Walking up Gasgale Gill the next morning... |
 |
...and back down Coledale towards Keswick, with Penny, Sarah and Briony |
| Helvellyn (16th February)
The best one so far. Fantastic views all day, superb scrambling along Striding Edge, and even some snow. |

Approaching Helvellyn |

Climbing above Red Tarn towards Striding Edge (the jagged ridge below the summit, to the left) |

Fausto and Jane on Striding Edge (the crest of course, not the path!) |
 |
Here is not a good place to trip up! |

Same again from Helvellyn's summit |

It was too cold on Helvellyn, so here's a Raise summit photo instead! |

| Langdale (24th February)
Back in the snow for a day in the Lake District's finest valley.

The 2 groups meet, more than half-way round - gives us plenty of time in the pub to wait for them! |

| Ogwen (2nd March)
More snowy scrambling on Tryfan and Glyder Fach
|
 |
There's an easier way but that would be cheating! |

Tryfan : a reak hands-on mountain |

The summit at last. Now it gets REALLY interesting (hence no more photos)! |
