LUOAC - Helvellyn Early Summer 2004

An OAC walk from Glenidding up via Striding Edge to Helvellyn. On the way back a swim in Grisedale Tarn for some people. Beautiful hot sunny weather and the stunning early summer landscape and plants of Cumbria.

This bit was a nice downward scramble. I'll buy the Park Ranger guy who helped me with the hand and foot holds a pint if I ever see him in a Lake District pub. Two pilots became the first people to land a plane on a mountain in 1926. Here's the spot on Helvellyn.	Grisedale Tarn. It's swimming time.	It is the Grisedale Loch monster? No, it's Jasmin!	A bit cold there Chris?
Jasmin the crocodile creeps up to shore to claim another unfortunately OAC victim before retreating back to the Tarn.	This is the life!	After a long day's walking sometimes all you need is a kip.	... or an Ice cream.
The drive back. Almost back to the start of the Fairfield walk before easter. We finished off with a nice meal in Kendal. At the Ring O' Bells of course!
