The Lake District is one of England's first and largest national parks. It contains landscapes varying from the rolling hills of the Eastern Fells to the rocky peaks around the Central Fells and Langdale.

The Lake District also has England's highest mountain - Scafell Pike (978m, 3208 ft), as well as the longest lake (Windermere) and the deepest lake (Wast Water).
